Graduate School of Education

Leslie Patricia Luqueño is a second-year doctoral student in the Graduate School of Education specializing in the Sociology of Education. Her research lies at the intersection of immigration, higher education, and kinship studies, with a particular focus on how the children of Latinx immigrants navigate the college choice process. She is interested in how Latinx students make sense of their familial dynamics and responsibilities as they embark in an increasingly competitive college admissions process. Leslie’s research is supported by the Ford Foundation Predoctoral Fellowship and Stanford’s Center for Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity Fellowship. She holds a B.A. in Anthropology from Haverford College.
